The fourth season of Demon Slayer will be released in the spring of 2024, according to an announcement and a (very) short trailer shared by distributor Aniplex.
There used to be a roughly two-year gap between seasons, so we’re very excited to see Tanjiro and the entire Demon Slayer Corps return much sooner than expected.
But that is not all! Similar to the opening of the third season, the fourth season of Demon Slayer will debut in special cinema screenings worldwide starting in February.
As confirmed in the third season finale, the fourth season of Demon Slayer will adapt the Hashira Training story arc. If you need more Demon Slayer in your life while you wait, you can always catch up on its spin-off series Junior High and High School! Kimetsu Academy Story, which was added to the Crunchyroll catalog earlier this year after its Japanese debut in 2020.
The spin-off sees the anime characters in an alternate reality where they are high school students. Tanjiro and the others must follow the strict rules of the Kimestsu Academy. But don’t worry – there’s still plenty of demon slaying to be had.
Besides Tanjiro, there are other characters like Giyu, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko, as well as Kanao, Susamaru, Yahaba, Aoi, Kiyo, and more.

Unlike many anime adaptations, Demon Slayer doesn’t have to catch up with the source material, as Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga ended in 2020 — meaning there are spoilers for anyone interested in looking ahead.
Without spoiling anything ourselves, we now know that the fourth season will adapt the Hashira training arc that takes place in chapters 128-136 of the original series.
Here’s the synopsis for fans who want a bit of a tease: “Tanjiro goes to visit Stone Hashiru, Himejima, who intends to prepare him for the battles to come. The training to become Hashiru – a high-ranking member of the Demon Slayer Corps – is intense and demanding . Getting Himejima’s approval seems impossible, but Tanjiro won’t give up! Meanwhile, the demon lord Muzan continues his search for Nezuko and Ubuyashiki’s location.”
